Hey – I’m Claire Cross, and I’m the owner of Spinroom Studio. I have been following my passion to keep fit and healthy both physically and mentally since I was 10 years old.  I used to swim competitively as a youngster, and after having my kids I decided to take up spinning to help me, and others like me to regain my fitness after a break.

After 18 months I decided to move to a larger and more suitable site. I now run a gym with 12 instructors and 30 classes per week to help everyone gain confidence, a healthy mind and body, and also to make friends.  You mostly see me wearing a bobble hat… I am always cold!

dave

Hi there, I’m Dave, and I have been on this journey with Claire right from the start…. and what an amazing journey it has been. I have been in the fitness industry since graduating from University in 2004. Initially managing Leisure Centre’s, I then moved into the training sector where I was educating and teaching people to be Personal Trainers, Fitness and Class  Instructors.  You’ll see me around the studio teaching classes, working 121 with clients, and also offering important Sports Massage treatments.  I am a keen but slow runner and love the outdoors life.

nic

Hi, I’m Nic, and I’m the Hatton Boxing coach and a Personal Trainer here at Spinroom Studio. I got into boxing about 7 years ago, and I started circuit and kettlebell classes here at Spinroom to help improve my strength and cardio – Claire asked if I would be interested in teaching boxing and I’ve never looked back! When I’m not on the pads or training, I can usually be found in the audience of heavy metal gigs, or on my sofa reading spooky books or watching movies with my teenage twins and my two cats.

becky

Hello I’m Becky, and I’m a mum to three boys and two dogs! By day I work in a primary school, and by night I teach Spin and Kettlebells here at Spinroom! Ever since I was a child, I was always playing sport and that continued in to keeping fit and exercising as I got older. I really enjoy exercising and how it makes me feel mentally and physically, and combined with a passion for helping people, as well as some encouragement from a friend, it got me involved in teaching classes and I’ve honestly never looked back! There’s not much more to say really, other than I never thought that when I started a family I’d start challenging myself to doing things like cycling all the way to Devon and Paris, or climbing the famous three peaks in 24 hours, or walking to Skegness, but putting it simply; ‘’I like how it makes me feel’’ and if I can pass a little bit of that on to other people then I’m really happy!

claire

I’m the other Claire, Hello! After receiving a cancer diagnosis at the age of 35, the “Spinroom Family” helped me to trust my body again, to rebuild, to become stronger, and to calm my anxieties and appreciate just how good exercise can make you feel. I wanted to share this feeling with others, so I became an instructor to support and encourage people on their own fitness journey. I also cover any classes on the timetable whenever necessary.

kerry

Hi I’m Kerry , and I embarked on my journey as a Spin Instructor in 2015, thanks to the encouragement of Claire the owner, and following a few years as an avid Spinroom member myself. I love most genres of music, and I can’t promise I won’t sing or dance along to any of the tracks that will be playing during the classes! I enjoy socialising with friends, and I’m obsessed with plants! I do believe although working out should be fun, it should also be tough and challenging.

robbie

I’m Robbie, and my fitness journey began at the age of 6 when I got into Martial Arts. Training in Martial Arts gave me so many different skills that I was able to adapt to a variety of sports when I was growing up. This led me to pursue a career in Sport, and that’s when I found Personal Training. When I took on my first job, I jumped in quickly, learning to teach a variety of classes: Spin, Pump, Circuits, Boxfit and more.

I then started to take on more Personal Training clients, which enabled me to become self-employed and work for various gyms, which is when I found Spinroom. Claire took me on and I’m still going strong, and I love teaching at Spinroom Studio.

laura

Hi! My names Laura – I’m known as the loud one – and I teach Spin Classes at the Spinroom! I’ve always been passionate about fitness and exercise, and studied my degree in Sports Coaching and Physical Education, and now work as a Sports Lecturer at University Centre Peterborough. I first found my love for spinning as a participant in Claire’s classes, and she then encouraged me to do my training, and here I am 9 years later and I’m still loving the pedal party!

tina

Hi, my name is Tina, and this is what I look like after teaching Indoor Cycling! This look can be easily achieved, simply don your trainers and workout kit, turn up, and work as hard as you can!

I have been teaching at Spinroom Studio for almost 10 years now, and I have loved every single minute of it. I have a real passion for keeping healthy and fit, and for inspiring others to do the same.

I first qualified as a Fitness Instructor in the year 2000, having decided to turn my passion into my career.  I started working at LivingWell Health Club in 2001, now called Bannatyne Health Club in Peterborough. I was working on the gym floor as an instructor and a Personal Trainer, teaching classes such as Circuits and Kettlebells, Aqua Aerobics in the Pool, and of course Indoor Cycling or Spinning as its known.

When I’m not spinning my heart out, I love to spend time with my family. I have 2 beautiful grown-up daughters and a new gorgeous Grandson to keep me busy. I love gardening and walking, and you will often find me in one of the fab local watering holes!

Spinroom Studio is a fabulous place to work, and to workout. Everyone is so friendly and possibly a bit bonkers too! As the old saying goes;”You don’t have to be mad to work here, but it helps

I like to say; “You don’t have to be mad to try spinning, but it helps”

Come and give it a go, I’d love to see you. Tina x

Kelsy

I love to exercise because it has the power to change the way my day is going. I love teaching exercise so I can help others feel the impact it can have on you mentally and physically.
